” Chandrakantbhai, you are a unique doctor with a heart full of love and compassion dedicated for the welfare of family and society at large. You have a mind full of ideas and emotions which are reflected in your poems and other writings. You are a very religious person as well and that comes out vividly in many of your poems. You are a generous person giving donations to many charitable organizations. However you are careful that charity is not wasted. You also have rare ability to identify the needs of the society which are often overlooked by most people. Once the need has been identified, you persevere until the goal is achieved. You do not fail to seek help from your many friends in order to fully achieve the desired goal.Essentially you are a wonderful family man epitomized as an ideal son, brother, husband and father.May Almighty God grant you long, healthy and happy life that may prove to be even greater boon to family, friends and society at large in years to come.”

activities that he is not an ordinary person. During his busy Medical
carrier he could do all these activities is beyond my imagination. He helped
me all the times when I asked any medical advice from him, any time which I can not forget for ever.
He has done great service to the Samaj and as a whole it is a great service to all kind of people by opening Clinic, Balmandir etc. at his village VESMA.
I know, He also helped construction of Hospital at his village Vesma on hway 8. I have his books on Poetry and Bhajans is The Great. His parent and brother is not here on this planet but they must be very happy at GOD’S place to see all his achievements and services he rendered to the community.

    Chandravadanbhai, Namaste

I know of all the good work you have done for your own family and for the Prajapati community and you are still continuing this good work. One example of your devotion to your own family was when you left your work in a hospital in England immediately and went to Zambia on the demise of your elder brother Chhaganbhai in a car accident in Zambia to comfort and help his family and stayed there for quite a while until your brother’s family was comfortable. On that occassion he even left his own family in England for sometime before arranging them to join him in Zambia latter.

Your service to the community of the village where you were born is notable and is visible to anyone who visits village Vesma. You have been a contributor for the uplift of education of Prajapati community at large.

To me and my family you have always been kind and sincere.

Wish you and your family best of health.

    Dr Chandravadan

I was pleased to read your profile.

I know of your devotion to serve your family and also community. Just to mention one incident which showed how devoted you are for your family. When your elder brother, Mr Chhaganbhai died suddenly in a car accident in Zambia, you immediately left your employment as a doctor in a hospital in London suburb and went to Zambia to be with your brother’s wife Mrs Shantaben and family to give them comfort and help and stayed in Zambia for quite a long period till you made sure that your late brother’s family was comfortable and was able to get on with their life. At that time you even left your wife Kamu and children in London but only later arranged for them to join you in Zambia.

Your devotion to serve the community of village Vesma, India where you were born is seen from major contributions made by you with your family in various community projects in the village. If one visits village Vesma one will see evidence all your benevolent contributions. You also encourage and support schemes both morally and financially to promote education among children of community. Your natural talent to write, particularly poems is reflected in publications of your poems in book form.

You have always respected me as your elder brother which is a great honour for me. You have considered my wife Parvati as your own sister and had given her that respect and love as a brother to a sister which is heartily appreciated by her.

May Almighty bless you with good health in life ahead to continue your good work.

i knew C M Mistry during our college days in mumbai and after a brief meet of 2 yrs we got separated as he went to medical school and i stayed at the original college. it took us some 40+ yrs to find each other and then learned that CM mistry is Dr. Mistry and he is not too far from me.

i had no idea that my doctor friend had a poetic heart and expression. first time met in LA he wrote a poem about my mother. i was amazed by his gujarati knowledge as he was raised outside India. he has also sent me couple of his kavya sangrah and which shows the softness of his heart. bravo, chandravadan.

a medical doctor, a poet and the most astonishing characteristic CM is his soft hear for the less privileged. his involvement to raise the well being of his fellow community members is note worthy. 3 cheers for sau kamuben to support Dr. Mistry on this mission. it is this precious element of divine consciousness to lend a hand for others. this shows Dr. mistry’s aptitude for well being of the society.

i wish him a very happy, healthy and successful life to serve the divine’s creation. i am proud to be his friend and wish god’s choicest blessings shower upon him. jay shri Krushna!!!!!

There is only one disappointed I have right now, I could not read your comment at the top of the blog as I never learned to read Gujarati… So Please Please Please translate your post into English. Knowing you I know you are going to be calling me soon to tell me to taken on learning Gujarati :)…

    Uncle,

My earliest memory of you that I can recall at this moment was back in 1983 when you and my Father picked up myself, my Mother, and my two sisters at Los Angeles International airport. We were arriving from Texas, Motabapa’s house if I recall correctly. You were there at the airport with a Ford van to pick us up along with the many suitcases that we had brought. We finally arrived to the state that I would be calling home.

As I was growing up and visiting you and Auntie ever so often, there were three things that were guaranteed when I visited Lancaster; one I was going to be fed really well because Auntie is an excellent cook. Second, Auntie will always remind me how tall I was getting. Finally, Uncle and your camera. Everytime I think about it you were behind a camera. You seem to be always taking pictures. I often think you probably have more pictures of me growing up then my own parents. These precious memories of you Uncle and Auntie I will always cherish and I hope there will many more years of new memories that I obtain from you.

Uncle, over the years you were there for not just myself, but my whole family in times of need and in times of joy. You were there to help in our low points and you were there to cheer us on when we accompolished something. I realize right now as I type this comment to post that I probably have never thanked you for everything you and Auntie have done for me and my family….UNCLE & AUNTIE, THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING! You will always have a special place with me and my family. It is very difficult sometimes to put thoughts into words. I probably could go on, but this is enough.

P.S. I agree with my brother, a tranlation to English would be very beneficial.

    Your Nephew,

    Dear Bhikhubhai (Nana)

It was great to catch up with you and Nani on my recent trip to the USA.
I have known you and the Mistry family since my childhood in Zambia (Pemba and Lusaka). You are truly an inspiration to all of us in the manner in which you took on the responsibilities of not only your family but also Chhaganbhai’s family following his untimely demise in Zambia in mid-1970s. Your and Nani’s scarifices (with smiling faces) are well remembered by us all. You also were always there for my late parents whenever they needed medical attention – in Zambia and in the USA. Your charity and community work is also much appreciated as well as your writings and poems. May the Almighty continue to bless you and your family with good health and may you continue to inspire us with your knowledge, wisdom and compassion.
